This introduction letter was one I sent home to families at the start of my placement. I wanted parents and guardians to know who I am, why I’m in their child’s classroom, and how much I care about creating a positive learning environment. I also included information about my background, what I value as a future teacher, and how they could contact me if they ever had questions.
Sending this letter home helped me start the year on the right foot by building trust with families early on. It helped families feel more comfortable knowing who their kids were spending the day with. Writing this letter reminded me how important it is to communicate clearly with families and make sure they feel comfortable knowing who is supporting their child each day.
