During my student teaching placement, my mentor teacher and I participated in piloting the Imagine IM mathematics curriculum. Over the course of several weeks, we met with other teachers and administrators in the district to discuss the curriculum and share feedback about how it was working in our classrooms.
As part of this process, I had the opportunity to teach lessons from the curriculum for about two weeks. This allowed me to see how students interacted with the lessons and reflect on the strengths and challenges of the curriculum. This experience helped me see how teachers work together to evaluate curriculum and continuously improve instruction for students.
